Aleix Vidal-Quadras 'Jo m'hagués abstingut, com CiU, en la votació del Pla d'austeritat de Zapatero'

Aleix Vidal-Quadras, eurodiputat del Grup del Partit Popular Europeu i vicepresident de l'Eurocambra va participar en el darrer esmorzar de treball per a periodistes, d'aquesta temporada, que l'Associció de Periodistes Europeus de Catalunya (APEC) ha celebrat en col-laboració amb l'Oficina del Parlament Europeu, a Barcelona, a l'Aula Europa el dia 10 de juny del 2010.
Vidal-Quadras ha qualificat l'actual presidència espanyola de 'decepcionant'. Ha volgut deixar molt clar que l'equip de tècnics de la presidència espanyola és un equip molt ben preparat però que amb un president del Consell com Rodriguez Zapatero la imatge que s'ha donat al món ha estat molt dolenta.
'El govern, ha dit Vidal-Quadras, ha reaccionat tard i malment a aquesta crisi global. Les mesures de xoc proposades han estat massa poc contundents. No han anat a fons. S'ha produït un retall en programes socials massa gros. I això no agrada'.
El vicepresident del PE va confirmar la trucada d'Angela Merkel a Rajoy perquè no votés en contra de la retallada de zapatero. 'Rajoy, va afegir, volia fer caure el govern però jo, potser perquè sóc català, entenc l'abstenció de CiU. Jo també m'hagués abstingut. El risc era massa elevat per la reacció que podien tenir els mercats. En les decisions polítiques s'ha de mesurar el risc. Ara bé, l'abstenció de CiU es va parar el cop però el problema de fons que és el deteriorament de l'economia espanyola, continua'.


Vidal-Quadras va afegir 'que CiU té ara una oportunitat d'or per jugar un paper important en la política espanyola'. Preguntat perquè el PP no retira el recurs d'inconstitucionalitat contra l'estatut i així, ell i alguns altres membres del seu partit es podrien acostar a CiU per sumar una majoria contra el PSOE, Vidal-Quadras va contestar contundent ' perquè creiem profundament en la inconstitucionalitat d'aquest estatut d'autonomia. El temps dirà'.
Vidal-Quadras ha criticat Zapatero dient que no coneix la realitat 'viu en un món de somnis, creu que la seva voluntat canviarà el món i ens està portant a un carreró sense sortida'.
En opinió de Vidal-Quadras, Zapatero hauria de deixar pas a altres persones de la seva formació política i convocar eleccions. D'aquesta manera no es produiria un daltabaix polític a Espanya.
Vidal-Quadras que es membre de la comissió d'Indústria, Investigació i Energia del PE va exposar l'informe sobre mesures per garantir la seguretat del subministrament de gas, que el PE votarà pel juliol.
